About Biz Coach
Here's 9 Things You Need To Know About Clif...
- He has broad commercial sales and general management experience both in NZ and overseas with small and medium size businesses. While posted overseas, Clif turned a loss making branch of a popular advertising magazine into returning a profit inside 6 months by building team motivation in sales and implementing strong systems.
- Prior to becoming a Business Coach, he ran his own produce export business for 7 years as well as holding directorship in 2 other companies in related industries both in NZ and overseas.
- A self-starter, Clif began his produce export business as a one-man band, building to a staff of 7 and an annual turnover of $14 million. Jointly with an associated business, his company was a NZ Exporter of the Year finalist in 2002.
- Clif rode the highs and lows of the produce export industry for 10 years and knows well the importance of strong buyer/supplier relationships as well as how to “put out fires!” and make the tough calls when necessary.
- Believing a balanced lifestyle is a major key to success, Clif is a former representative rugby player and still enjoys most sports, keeping himself fit and spending time on family and community based activities.
- Clif has coached over 50 businesses in the past two and a half years and believes the majority of Business Owner’s problems come from not understanding and measuring the key profit drivers in their business and being too time challenged to do anything about it.
- A business graduate of Massey University, Clif has learnt success in business is more often about what is practical to the individual business owner and getting a number of smaller things right rather than one big killer idea or strategy – consistency beats brilliance 8 times out of 10!
- One of the greatest rewards Clif gets from being a Business Coach is the platform it provides for continual learning, both from the coaching system and the clients he works with. This in-turn hugely benefits his new clients.
- Clif is resident in Greenlane, Auckland where he lives with his wife and five children – including twin boys.
Family
Our household is a busy place on even a quiet day! Following the principle of "100% participation" for our children means my wife's day is extremely full and well scheduled..so this coach turns into the "coached" after 5.30pm!
A real bonus is many of the principles of running a business apply to our families, so many of my learnings make their way home..the "talking stick" being a favourite at the dinner table!
